Today my advice is BE CAREFUL IF YOU HAVE KIDS!  The holiday parties today for some reason just seemed out of control!  Kids were everywhere, over-stimulated, and over-stuffed with sugar.  I am lucky enough to work with five different grade levels which means five different parties.  The amount of sugary foods on the tables was enough for me to feed a small army...and then put them into a sugar coma.  Seriously, we wonder why America is fat...at such a young age we tell children that a party is the equivalent of high-fat, high-grease, high-sugar overload.  I'm as guilty as the next person but how do we stop this vicious cycle?  Obviously if you had veggies and fruit only at the party the kids would be let down; but do I compromise their health just to make them happy.  A second grader has a weight counselor...SECOND GRADE!  It breaks my heart.  How can we as a country begin to change these bad food habits?

Breakfast - 

2 Kashi Waffles

1/4 cup sugar-free syrup

1 cup mixed fruit

1 cup fat-free organic milk

Lunch - 

Cooked carrots

1 Kahiki Veggie and Chicken Egg Roll with 1 sweet and sour sauce packet

sugar-free jello

fat-free yogurt

Snack - 


Dinner - 

1 cup Kraft Mac and Cheese with no butter and fat-free milk

Light Caesar Salad Kit

Snack - 

Diet pop

100 calorie pack
